Saffron Citrus Wheat Beer:

4lb 2 row
4lb white wheat

1.0 oz Wilamette 60 min

3.0 oz orange peel at flameout
1.0 oz saffron at secondary

Wyeast 3942 belgian wheat

mash @ 152 60 min
primary @ 72

OG 1.043
est FG 1.011
est ABV 4.1
IBUs 17.63
SRM 3.76

Note: I believe I'll get some additional bitterness from the saffron, bumping it up a little.

Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I decided to switch out the orange peel for lime peel, for a brighter citrus aroma and flavor.

Aside from that, the recipe should remain as is. Brewing tomorrow, any opinions or warnings or thoughts?

an ounce of Saffron? that's a lot. Most brewers talk 1-3 grams in a five gallon batch. How did it turn out?
