Anybody buy a float switch from ebay and get rust all over the welded nut?

Someone mixed up the box of nuts apparently. I'd contact the seller and ask for a unit that actually is all 304 stainless like the specs say. Put a magnet on the nut to see if it attracts.

I have two of the same ones I've used for about two years and no rust issues. Contact the seller.

Be careful with those chinese sellers, quality and safety can be an issue. If they made a mistake like this then what else can they do? Some of the sanitary fittings I have bought were from china on ebay, most sucked, just bad workmanship or chrome plated steel. Brewers Hardware while its from China, it s from a good manufacturer.
