My first yeast starter is on the stir plate and I was just wondering what the best way to get the stir bar out of the flask prior to pitching might be?

I leave it in but trap it on the bottom with a magnet while pouring it out! And if it goes into your fermenter it's not that big of a deal until you need to clean it out and try to get it out!

Use another magnet on the outside of the flask to hold the stir bar while you pitch the starter. You can buy coated magneic spinbar retrievers (looks like a swizzle stick) but it is just one more thing to stick in your brew, and they cost $10 to $20 from places like Cynmar

Pour slowly, leave a little starter behind and the magnet.
Never thought of using another magnet. Thank you.
