I just moved to West Coast Hop Heaven: Drain Oregon, South of the Willamette valley and west the Cascade Mountains. To celebrate I am brewing a Red Ale, but I grabbed a bunch of ingredients on the fly at the home brew shop in Cottage Grove. I realized the ingredients don't completely match up for the style but I wanted some opinions on how it might turn out:
6 lbs Light DME
.5 lb Biscuit (grain)
1 lb 80L Crystal (grain)
1 oz perle @ 60min
2 oz cascade @ 15 min
1 oz cascade @ 5 min
1 oz Willamette @ 0 min
11 grams Nottingham(danstar/lallemand)

Looks great to me! I'm about to brew an Irish red. I'm not doing it, but you always could add some sugar to give it a little bit of a dry taste. Looks like a good recipe to me!

So this turned out to be a really killer brew, by the way. Finished a tad bit dryer than I thought it would, which ended up being a good thing. Down to the last 22 oz bottle and of course the last few bottles were the best
