I am going to brew an IPA this week. I got the Anniversary IPA mini-mash kit from AHS and I am adding some things on my own. This is my 7th batch and my first shot at a real hoppy beer. Also trying the late hop addition thing. Advice or suggestions are encouraged.


Batch size: 5.0 gallons

Original Gravity 1.067
Final Gravity 1.018
Color 11° SRM
Mash Efficiency 70%

5 lbs Extra Pale Liquid Malt Extract
2 lbs American Two-row Pale
1 lb Crystal 75L
1 lb Extra Light Dry Extract
1 lb Light Dry Malt Extract

Hops
boil 60 1.0oz Summit 15.5 %
boil 30 1.0 Chinook 13.0
boil 15 1.0 Columbus 15.0
boil 10 1.0 Chinook 13.0
boil 5 1.0 Hop Dust 7.0 approx
dry hop 7 days 1.0 Cascade 7.3
dry hop 7 days 0.5 Palisades 7.1

Boil: 4.0 avg gallons for 60 minutes

Bitterness 113.9 IBU / 16 HBU ƒ: Tinseth BU:GU 1.70

Yes, I hope it will be. I'm worried about the hops. Too much, too many kinds, added at wrong times, etc.
 
Also, is Hopville correct with IBU ratings? I can't believe this would be 100+
 
I wonder if you are a little heavy on the Crystal 75. Perhaps could that down a little and add some Biscuit malt? But it looks good overall. Can I put in an order for a 6 pack?
