Ranco 11100 on a 30A circuit?

It says its 240V compatible but these are the resistive specs-
Contact Ratings 240v: 8.0 AFL
48.0 ALR
Resistive: 15 A
8 A

I dont know what the first two numbers mean but I'm assuming I cant use this on a 30A circuit without frying it... im using a single 5500w heating element just to get my liquor water up to temp.... idk help!

The Ranco will handle 16A full load at 120V and 8A at 240V. The 5500W element draws 23A at 240V, so I don't think the Ranco is a viable option for controlling an element directly.

You're totally right. I needed to pick up something called a wall wert. One circuit goes to the ranco, while the other goes to the heating element. I can post more about it if theres interest...

There's something else, rather ubiquitous, called a relay that might also be useful.
