You think you may have mites? Easy to check- hold a clean sheet of white paper under a suspect leaf and tap the leaf a few times. Look closely - if you got'em you'll see what looks like dust specs that are moving. Break out the safer soap. Actually a little Palmolive green in a spritz bottle does equally well for a lot less money. The soap solution actually breaks the surface tension of the water and drowns them. Re-spray every couple days to kill those hatching from eggs. Mites can re-lay eggs about every 5 to 7 days, so keep up the spray routine for about 10 days or so to break their lifecycle.
