Hi,
After years of brewing beer on and off I have been making an occasional pop batch. I picked up a copy of "Homemade Root Beer, Soda & Pop" Its recipes suggest ale yeast.

When I have been using the homebrew soda concentrates I used champagme (often too much) yeast. Does the type of yeast make a differance?

One of the lemon lime soda recipes call for juicing lemons and limes. Can I use concentrates?

Lastly I would like to get away from using glass to bottle my soda. Is there a problem using 1.5l (or smaller) clean plastic bottles?

Thanks in advance,
Jon

I don't make much soda, but when I do I almost always use Champagne yeast. It's the most "clean" tasting yeast I've found for soda.

I always use plastic bottles, and use either 20 ounce soda bottles, or the 2L bottles. Really, any plastic bottle that is designed to hold carbonated beverages will work. You don't want to reuse water bottles, because I don't know if they would hold up to 30 psi (or more) that you get with soda.
