Ok. In two weeks I plan to do my pliny the elder clone. I will follow the aha recipe for 6 gallons
13 # 2row
.6# crystal 45
.6# carapils
1# corn sugar

3.5 oz columbus 90 min
.75 oz columbus 45 min
1 oz simcoe 30 min
1 oz centinial flameout
2.5 oz simcoe flameout

Dryhop #1
1 oz. Simcoe, columbus and centinial

Dryhop#2
.25 oz. Simcoe columbus and centinial

Here is my first question. I have read that russian river also uses amirillo. Just a touch in this now. Its on website. So I was thinkin .25 oz on last dryhop addition for sure. Should I also do first dryhop addition with amirillo also or put it in boil around 5 minutes. I know it wil be answers all over the place but I'd like to hear thoughts.

Question 2. Vinny recommends wl001. I have it and can make a starter but also have conan yeast from a headytopper I could use. Which one?

Which yeast did you end up using? I'm getting ready to brew a batch of PtE in the next week or so and I'm thinking about using 1056 on half and Conan for the other half.

I used conan. Just got carbed in the keg last night and had my first taste. Incredible. I would not change a thing on this recipe. If couldn't get conan (I was lucky enough to have it) 1056 or wloo1 or American ale 2 prob. But if u have conan then use it. U will not be dissapointed
