I'm planning to brew an APA with some leftover pilsner malt and was pondering mash temp.
I've used pilsner malt for lagers using Palmer's 50-60-70ish method. This has always worked well for me for that big, malty continental flavor but I'm hoping to go a simpler route for an APA
Would a single-step mash around 152F work well for an APA? Or would something along the lines of a 20-30 mins rest at 140, then 152 for 45 mins work better?
Here's the grain bill:
8.5 lbs Avengard Pils
1.0 lbs Wheat
0.5 lbs Crystal 20
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
