Hey all,
I am going to be brewing an American Pale Ale soon and I was wanting some advice on what I should or should not use. I have an abundance of Cascade hops so thats the type i am going to use.

(5 gal. batch)
6lbs of plain DME
.5lbs of crystal 20L
1 oz. Cascade (60min)
1 oz. Cascade (30min)
1 oz. Cascade (15min)
US-05 dry American Ale yeast

I was wanting to throw some cara-pils in there for better head retention. Any thoughts? Thank you for the help.

Nice simple recipe.

It is real easy, and worth it to swap out a lb of DME for 1.5-2 lbs of 2 Row or Marris Otter and do a partial mash. All you need is a grain bag! (aka Nylon Paint Strainer Bag from HD Lowe's)
