Hey All,

I had planned to brew a Belgian quad this Christmas, but (I should have checked) the LHBS didn't carry any liquid candy sugar. So, on the fly, I decided to switch to a stout to use up some ingredients I had at home.

Below is the recipe I formulated by going through the bins (Whoops, went a little overboard on the variety of specialty malts - still fighting to simplify). My best guess, after reviewing a couple other recipes, is that this will be more like a porter than a dry Irish stout.

I'm sure this will make a tasty beer, but does anyone care to chime in on what I might expect?

9 lb US 2-Row
1/2 lb Flaked Oats
1/2 lb Crystal 60
1/2 lb Chocolate
1/2 lb Roasted Barley
3/4 oz Galena @ 60 min
1 oz Fuggles @ 20 min
Nottingham Yeast

Est. OG: 1.056
Est. FG: 1.011
IBU 46.2
