Hello all, I am joining the ranks of home brewing shenanigans. I just got a home brew kit for my birthday and am getting ready to brew my first batch o' summer ale.

Is it extract, all grain? What ingredients and setup do you have there? Most importantly, welcome to homebrewtalk.

Well, starting off with an extract recipe, but a little concerned about the room temp. in my house being too hot for fermentation--it is about 80 degrees F.

As for LHBS, I got my initial brew kit from Stomp Them Grapes. So for now, I will be using them.

If you have an extra bathtub, you can fill the tub partway with water, drape an old shirt over the fermenter, and point a fan at it. I also toss the ice from my freezer in there every morning. This can lower your fermentation temps significantly.

Velotech, do you know of anywhere in the Denver-area to get some bottles on the cheap? I have tried Craig'slist, but no response so far. I may try checking with some restaurants--what do you think/know?
