Hello! I'm new to brewing myself, however, I've been a fan of the hobby for a long time. I tried an extract kit many years ago, it turned out ok, but haven't done much since.
This year my wife asks me what I want for my birthday, so I say a homebrewing setup. I give her a few ideas on what I need to get started. She ends up getting me the Grainfather system, with every possible tool from paddles to corny kegs, to a Catalyst fermenter. Blew me away!
I brewed my first batch, an Alpha King clone, two weeks ago (which I will be kegging very soon), and I am addicted. I've already learned so much by lurking on these forums, and I look to learn much more, and hopefully can get to the point where I can be teaching some things about homebrewing to others in the future!
