Need Help Think I broke my racking cane

I was cleaning hops out of my racking cane and I accidently pop off the little piece that's inside of the tube at the bottom, I cant get it back on. Is there any way to get it back on? I haven't tried it yet but will my racking cane still work? Is there something I can replace it with? Hope I don't have to buy a new one.

If it won't go back on easy, it's probably a lost cause.

That piece is mostly to keep you from sucking up yeast when you siphon your beer. It keeps the opening of the cane above the yeast (mostly). By being a bit careful you can do without it forever.
