I take back the bigger body of water. I figure it was an inlet on the ocean to the city but that could very well be a river in the photo and it looks like a possible smaller town or old part of a bigger city.

Aberdeen would be getting closer, but only by about 30 miles straight line.... and yeah, Heidelberg is going in the wrong direction!

Forgot about the mountains around Salzburg, definitely not Salzburg.
I am afraid not. This town is about twice as far from Prague as Salzburg.

Nope. While they also speak some German here, locals are more likely to speak English than French as an additional language.
Okay, I found a really cool connection between Strasbourg and my town. Will give it up in a few if no one gets it by then.

I wouldn't know the composers from this town, but I imagine some are famous... That isn't the connection, naturally.
2 hours is long enough. A brewery founded in Strasbourg is now headquartered in this town... that is the connection and quite probably the giveaway.
