My visit to Portland's Holiday Ale Festival (pics)

Yesterday I went to Portland's 15th Annual Holiday Ale Festival for the first time. Wow they had some interesting stuff, and it was almost all high alcohol, oaked, and spiced.

It was lots of fun, but with so many barrel-aged beers with about 10% alcohol, how could it not be?

Did you try any of the meads?

I was there on Saturday afternoon. I had a blast, I got to try Deschutes' Mirror Mirror I really liked it. But after about 5 tasters or so they all started blending together.
I did try the Mead it was a traditional it was nice but I had a few beers before and after so I cant say much about it

I love the Holiday Ale Fest! I was serving on Friday night and then went tasting on Saturday (too much tasting I think...).

My favorite beer of the Festival was the Beer Valley Brewing Company Ho Ho Ho Slapper.
