Hey all
I lurked around here for a bit before starting my first attempt at a hard cider. I am just about at the bottling stage.
My Recipe:
4.5 Gallons of Carlson Orchards Apple Cider (Here)
1.5 lbs Dark Brown Sugar
1 Packet Safale S-04 Yeast
Now this cider was pretty sweet to begin with. My initial gravity reading on it came to 1.050 (before I added any sugar). My cider has been in the primary fermenter for just shy of 3 weeks, and my airlock went silent a few days ago. I read a lot of people talking about moving to a secondary fermenter to clarify the cider, but this cider was very cloudy before I ever touched it. Should it be fine to go straight to the bottling phase?
