Does anyone know of any current group buys in the eastern Massachusetts area?

I don't, but I do know that Strange Brew has some decent prices/specials from time to time.. Probably closer to you than it is to me. Also subbing to this, as it would be worth a drive to eastern MA for a decent grain buy.
