Woke up with this on my mind, no idea why; I know that some recipes call for a 1.25 quart of water to 1 lb grain ratio in the mash, where others call for 1.5. Does it make a difference?
I don't know but yesterday's batch had a water/grain ratio of 4 and it gave me a little higher efficiency than I had planned for. One thing I noticed between the batch with the 1.5 ratio and the 4 ratio was it was much easier to stir the thinner batch.
