mash tun with round false bottom noob questions

Hey all, I am in the process of putting my all grain system together and have a few questions. The only questions I really have is on the fittings for the cooler conversion. I am planning on using a ten gallon cylindrical cooler and already have a round false bottom with a 3/8 barb. I just need to know what other parts and fittings I'll need since I'm not sure on how to attach the ball valve to the mash tun. Should I just use a nut and washer with a hose barn to secure them? thanks
