Mash tun size vs grain

ok my brain is tired. Between grain absorption, water volume within the grain and the grain volume itself my brain is tired. Did I just say that?

Ok here is my word math problem for those of you who like them. Assuming all the above plays into it. I have a 20 gal tun arriving. I want to get 12 gallons of pre boil wort out. How many pounds of grain can I add assuming a 1.2 ratio of water to grain.

Thanks, I tried it before and it said I could use 50# o grain. So I was not sure. But this actually is consistent with another source. So it must be true! Lol. Thanks for the quick reply

Those calculators both look right. I've had 48 pounds of grain in my 20 gallon kettle and still had almost an inch and a half of freeboard.
That was an exciting day

Little over a week ago I did the largest brew I have ever done. 31# grain and 10gal strike water in my 15.5gal mash tun. But it was pretty full.
