I have an issue where I'm getting a gas leak where the end of my line reaches the base of my quick disconnect. Since the end of the gas tube isn't fully flush against the plastic base of my quick disconnect gas is slowly leaking out, fast enough that I can hear and feel it, if I put my finger over where the gas tube isn't fully flush I can hear the pitch of the leak change so I know thats where its leaking.

Below I took a picture of where the tube meets the QD (left) and where it just falls short of being flush (right). I've tightened the clamp down to the point where I feel like any more tightening might cause screw stripping. The tube I'm using is 5/16 x 7/16 and without a clamp it fits very loosely on the barb, almost to the point where it seems like it could be too big for the barb (although they were sold together).

Would adding some teflon tape around the barb help solve this issue? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Looks like 1/4" Barb. The only effective solution is to get either a 3/8" barbed disconnect or 1/4" tubing...or.. 1/4"MFL disconnect and a 5/16" swivel nut.

I like using these with my gas lines. You would need to buy these ball lock gas disconnects and the swivel nut adapter to go with it but it works so much better in my opinion.

This is the swivel nut adapter you need.

I also use otiker clamps instead of worm clamps for a better seal.

If you really want to get fancy you can use one of these before the disconnect, it's a check valve to prevent beer from going up thorough your gas lines into your regulator. Works great I have them on all my gas lines,

There are many ways to get there and other use other products but these are suggestions that I actually use and can recommend.

From the picture, to me it looks like the tubing is too big an ID for the barb and the worm clamp too big for the OD of the tubing.

Worm clamps don't do well when at or near their limit for smaller sizes. They lose their roundness and wrinkle the tubing beneath them making good path for the gas to escape.

Perhaps some layers of teflon tape on the barb might help if you can't get anything else more suitable at the moment.
