Im preparing to move to Boston and will hopefully begin making my first lager up there. How do you all lager outside during the winter? How do you keep if from freezing and protect from extreme temp fluctuations? Im excited to brew my first lager...any recommendations as to what kind to brew also?

Several ways to do it, I use temp control. A heater Ferm wrap around my carboy and I use a digital temp control with a thermowell to control +/- 1 degree.

Lagering ol' skool!

Just shoot for a mid-autumn lager. Those chilly nights will be perfect for you!

Man, I miss Boston.
