- Tasting Notes
- wonderfully hoppy with nice balanced malt flavor.
25 lbs of Briess 2-row (2 SRM)
2 lb Caramel/crystal malt- 60L (60 SRM)
1 lb Briess Carapils (1.5 SRM)
2 oz Whole dry Amarillo (freshops, 9%) 90 min
1.5 oz Whole dry Centenniel (freshops, 10%) 90 min
5 oz wet homegrown Cascades (maybe 4%, speculation!) 60 min
5 oz wet homegrown Cascades, 30 min
5 oz wet homegrown Cascades, 15 min
2 oz wet homegrown Cascades, flame out, steeped about 5 min
2 tsp irish moss
2- rehydrated packages of safale US-05
The final gravity above is again speculation since its not quite finished. I grow my own cascades, so the wet hops were picked right off the bine and thrown in. I just transferred this to secondaries last weekend, and it is wonderfully hoppy! The cascades are really standing out and nicely citrusy. Color is just right, a little on the lighter side of IPA. I'll post more info when it's completely finished. Will keg half and bottle half.
