I have 2 false bottoms, one for a 5g Rubbermaid cooler and one for a 10g Rubbermaid cooler. No matter what I do I can't get the valves to be stiff enough to not leak when I open/close them and I have an extra keg so I am converting it to a mash tun (HLT/BK are already kegs). I am done with cooler mashing. The 5g false bottom fits in the keggle fine but doesn't cover the entire bottom. The 10G false bottom fits more of the bottom but I have to bend it a little to get it in then bend it back once it's inside. I'd prefer not to by a third false bottom that is hinged. the question is can I use the smaller fb and it work ok or should I bend/unbend the larger one, or does it really matter? Thanks for the feedback ahead of time.
