Kegging question

Is it ok to keg half a batch in a 5g keg and bottle the other half?
Are there any ill effects to kegging only half? Keg not being almost full?
I have a scottish heavy ready and only want to keg half.

As long as you purge all the CO2 out of the keg it shouldn't be a problem. You'll use a little more CO2.....but that's the trade off.
