[Biermann]

Anyone ever used this yeast?? I got some by accident, and can't find much info about it--the Fermentis site is vague about its profile. It states "Top cropping ale yeast for top fermented beers with low esters and wheat beers."

So does that mean its a wheat beer yeast?? And if so, what type?? I don't exactly associate wheat yeasts with "low esters." So, I'm confused.

I'd like to use it, just don't know what for. . .

It's a German ale yeast, supposedly the same strain as Wyeast 1007.

Thanks. I was wondering if this were a Koelsch or Altbier style yeast.

On another note, I think Fermentis needs to be a little more specific on styles appropriate for their yeast.
