Hello, all!
I'm getting back into homebrewing after a fifteen year hiatus. I've done three extract brews in the past couple of months (along with a few batches of Apfelwein in some form of another) and today I brewed my first all-grain and BIAB SMaSH batch! (I'm kind of stoked)
In case you're curious, the recipe is:
10.5 lbs of Maris Otter
1 oz of Simcoe at 60 mins
1 oz of Simcoe at 30 mins
1 oz of Simcoe at FO
US-05 yeast
OG 1.060
Being my first batch, I wasn't sure what to expect. The M.O. has very malty aroma, but the Simcoe seemed to balance it out toward the end of the boil. Overall, I'm looking forward to the final product.
