I am in the process of either building or buying a jockey box. I am still currently overseas but I should be out of here soon. Anyway, I am wondering which do most people use? I am wanting a 2 tap one and I think I have all the parts needed. I wil be using it for homebrew and commercial kegs.

So, should I get 50' or 120' of coil? From what I read I guess it depends on how many people I am going to be serving correct? I guess the normal number would be between 6-8 people.

Thanks in advance.

50' for each tap works fine. At least it did for me. My coil is an Immersion chiller now. Domestic kegs are typically not good to leave warm for more than a day before they start to spoil.

good info

FWIW I found jockey boxes to be a pain in the ass. You have to use higher pressure to serve through them because of the coil resistance, they really are a temporary solution for dispensing. A small fridge conversion or actual kegerator seems so much more useful, unless you plan to kill the keg each time.

Thanks for the info. I will read over the links. The reason I am wanting one of these is for my camping trips or family reunions or something along those lines. Basically I need the portability to a place where there is no electricity.
