What are you guys up to?

Just got done making dinner...

Whiskey marinated tri-tip steak, roasted red potatoes and carrots, steamed broccoli, delicious double IPA... now recovering for a little bit before I head over to my friend's house for a bit of poker. After the cards going to come home and watch There Will Be Blood since it just came from Netflix and I haven't seen it yet. :rockin:

Sitting in NYC, flew here today, flying out at 6am to DC, Ohare, then home. Watching Mission Impossible 3.

Nice looking dinner. I'm home alone, watching Larry the Cable guy, waiting for someone to actually talk in chat, drinking beer and eating popcorn with Kraft macaroni cheese.

...Watching Mission Impossible 3.

On some levels I can't stand Cruise. But I'll admit, he did agreat job of acting in that flic.

Me? I'm working my way through some Secret Santa gifts...namely a Left Hand Brewery IPA, A Ft. Collins (CO) Rauchbier and eventually a Yeti Oaked RIS.

Yeah, well, the cable here in the Laguardia Crown Plaza leaves me few options. Been here since 11am... I am ready to get the hell out.

spent the morning running speaker wire and helpign a buddy hide all of his av equipment. a few yueninglings and christmas shopping. ready for bed now...no more beers

Saturday night and I am recovering from an all day shopping expedition. Did I ever mention how little I like to shop? It is one of my least favorite activities.

I did manage to pick up a few gifts at the beer store for my guys.

how is the criminally bad elf? I picked up the trio, bad, really bad, insanely, criminal... i can't remember. The labels were too cool not to grab.

Anybody had all 3 yet?

The Criminally Bad Elf and Lump of Coal are new to us this year. We liked the Seriously Bad Elf and Santa's Butt so hopefully we will like Criminally Bad Elf too. We tried the Bad Elf but that was too hoppy for me. Santa's Butt was really good and I have high hopes for the Lump of Coal.

The Scarecrow doesn't quite fit my holiday theme but it's so darn good I had to buy it. :D

Today was a late birthday excursion for me.
- trip to LHBS for supplies
- next over to Troegs brewery. They released scratch 16 today. Very yummy.
- then over to Appalachian brewery for more beers and some dinner
- lastly over to the casino. There's something seriously dangerous about pulling slots while drinking mad elf. It is an evil combo. I was surprised to find a beer like that at the casino.

don't worry, SWMBO was the driver :)

Just woke up on the couch...had the folks over earlier in the evening because the power is still out where they live, had my Dad try our Nut Brown Ale which he loved. Was a very good night :)

I went to the Heart of the Valley homebrewers' holiday party. Great food & beer, but I didn't drink much since the first snow of the season hit yesterday.

mini-rant: I belong to four organizations and three of them scheduled parties on the same day!

Lump of Coal: Dark Holiday Stout??? Who makes this??? It sounds wonderful!!!

Ridgeway Brewing out of the UK. It's imported along with the Elf/Santa series through Shelton Brothers. The are known for their funny labels as well as their good beer. One of the Elf beers was banned from Connecticut because of the label. :p

I ended up spending all my money on Belgian hi test Friday night, and had nothing left for saturday...............so sad, so worth it though.
