I realize that the answer is probably, no, but I am a new brewer and don't know any better. The semi-congealed spots look different than anything I saw in my first brew.

Different yeasts do different things...without a closer picture, it looks fine to me, just little yeast rafts and some bubbles. Although in the upper left corner, that looks a little off; but, again, I would need a closer picture. I've never had an infection that wasn't intentional, they are actually pretty hard to get unless you are really sloppy with your process.
 
Thanks for the reassurance. The bucket has 5 gallons of beer in it with 1.5 gallons of headspace.
