Hi and good evening to all from Thailand.
I have been attempting to make ginger beer. I have started with a ginger bug.
It is now 3 days old and bubbling away. But it looks moldy to me.
It smells great and even tastes good. What do you think?
Is it ok, or moldy?

Thanks. I think it had a lot to do with the very fresh, juicy ginger I bought from the local market here in Pattaya. I made my first ginger beer a few days ago. Very tasty and lots of fizz.

Thailand! Yes, you are right. The ginger we can get here in Germany is usually from China and treated with chemicals and/or radiation to make it last longer. This obviously kills all the beneficial bugs on it. You're lucky!
