I've been looking to pick up a roll of siphon tubing, but it occurred to me that maybe there is food grade vinyl tubing (the roll at my LHBS comes from a company called BEVLEX). Is there something special about the tubing for siphoning that makes it "food grade"? There's nothing on the box at my LHBS that says food grade, but before I pick up a 100' roll I figured I ought to ask.

Is all vinyl created equally, or is there food grade vinyl that we should be using with beer?

Thanks in advance!

Here's the tubing I found: $33.44 for 100' including shipping!

No, not all poly vinyl tubing is equal and yes there are food grade varieties. The Bevlex is great stuff and a lot of people use it for their keg lines. It has some sort of coating inside of it.

I personally just buy the stuff at home depot that is labeled food grade for siphoning, it's cheap and when it gets discolored I replace it
