I brewed an Irish Red on 3/11/12, racked to secondary today. My OG was 1080, which is higher than the high end (1060) of the BJCP style guideline. At today's racking, it's 1028. I'm satisfied with the ABV and all that, but with the gravities so significantly off from the BJCP guidelines, can I still compete this brew?

Competition is judged truly to style so if you enter as intended it will mark down because it exceeds style. If you can find a similar style that the gravity will correspond with as well as the other characteristics you can try that category instead. Although another thing to consider is upon entering you don't necessary have to submit all recipe info and most likely the judges would not be able to determine the excessive gravity reading anyway.
