Anybody see any issues using a US-05 Yeast Cake for a Cider? I see a few comments about reducing the volume of the cake instead of using the whole thing, so definitely going to be applying that principle.

Irish Red Ale was 5.6% ish target and will be finishing up this weekend. Once I transfer it to bottling bucket I had planned on putting my cider attempt directly in the fermenter, however do you scrape out 1/2c cake and wash the fermenter first?

I run my wort through a hop bag when pouring it into the fermenter so there is no protein/hop particles.

Thanks,
