I was just fold by a fellow club member that home brewers can’t pour their beer at beer festivals in IL anymore.

"Illinois statute Chapter 235, Act 5, Article II, § 2-1 permits the making of wine, cider or other ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR by a person from fruits, vegetables or grains, or the products thereof, by simple fermentation and without distillation, if it is made solely for the use of the maker, his family and his guests. "

Has anyone else heard about this?

We have a local (for charity) beer festival every year. One of the many booths is run by the local homebrew club, and they serve a few homebrews on tap.

This is in Bloomington Illinois btw.

They had a homebrew tent at the Midwest Brewers Fest last year, and plan on extending it next year, so I think this is one of those laws that's unenforced unless you start running a speak-easy
