I'm looking to add some "Christmas" spice to the following recipe. I've never done a spiced ale before. Just looking for some ideas as to what spices, how much, and when to add?

Batch Size (G): 5.5
Total Grain (lb): 17.250
Original Gravity (OG): 1.083
Final Gravity (FG): 1.018
Alcohol by Volume (ABV): 8.57 %
Bitterness (IBU): 39.6
Brewhouse Efficiency (%): 70
Boil Time (Minutes): 60

12.750 lb United Kingdom - Maris Otter Pale (73.91%)
1.000 lb American - Caramel / Crystal 60L (5.8%)
1.000 lb Belgian Candi Syrup - Dark (5.8%)
0.500 lb American - Carapils (Dextrine Malt) (2.9%)
0.500 lb Belgian - Aromatic (2.9%)
0.500 lb Belgian - Biscuit (2.9%)
0.500 lb Belgian - Special B (2.9%)
0.500 lb German - Munich Light (2.9%)

0.50 oz Magnum Pellet (15% Alpha) @ 60 Minutes (Boil) (0.1 oz/Gal)
1.50 oz Styrian Goldings Pellet (5.5% Alpha) @ 60 Minutes (Boil) (0.3 oz/Gal)

spruce or pine is a nice Christmas flavor that most beer drinkers seem to find pleasant.

orange would also play well with the special b raisiny notes and the minty sprucey type notes.

5-6 Clove buds, 2-3 cinnamon sticks, at 30-min of boil left.
3oz fresh sliced ginger, 3/4 oz orange peel zest, at 15 min boil left.
:) should be tasty!

Thanks LexusChris - Gonna try this minus the ginger

FromZwolle - I might try spruce tips in the spring
