I just found out that I have been accepted for a year long study abroad program in Freiburg, from this september until next july. I am so happy about it that it outweighs my sadness about not being able to brew for a year. I just wanted to share my happiness with the rest of you.

Study for what? Are you an MSU student?

Congrats on the acceptance, but I believe they have homebrewers in Germany.

Not that this has any relevance, but I grew up just north of Jackson, in Mason.

Yeah, I've been researching it on the internet, and I've found out that not only is there beer, but there are a couple breweries there too

So, no brewing for a year, but you will be doing future brewing research for a year, sounds good to me.

Sounds great. When you are there, spend a weekend in Switzerland. Here's a great place only a few hours away.

Freiburg is nice down. Kinda treehuggerish, but pretty young and dynamic. Rothaus will be the beer of choice! Black Forst is beautful, Switzerland and the Bodensee (Lake of Constance) right around the corner. Munich is also just about 3.5hr away. France less than 1hr. Going to University of Freiburg? Pretty good school ... have 2 friends there.
