I was cleaning off my hydrometer today and was holding it too tightly at the top. The glass cracked pretty good from the top down about an inch and curves back up. I am actually surprised it didn't break the tip right off. Well anyways, I am guessing it is only a matter of time before it bumps something and finishes itself off but now I am wondering if there was any sort of gas or vacuum sealed inside that may have been breached and could change the operation of it. I think I am going to order a two pack after the Christmas shopping is done. :)

You should be safe but it might not be accurate. I cracked the bottom of mine and I was worried about metal poisoning. I called NB and they said it is safe. Now I keep a spare.
