I have this diffusion stone.

Even with a new O2 tank, the airflow is greatly reduced after 20 batches or so.
I haven't touched it with my fingers to avoid getting oils on it. Obviously it's very porous, so I want to stay away from any soaps or cleansers that could get into my beer.

It's recommended to boil it. I do it for 15 to 20 minutes. And since mine is mounted pretty tightly on a wand I just fill a pot with water, get it boiling and then just balance it in the water for 15 minutes or so.

The instructions that come with my kit say to boil for 10 to 15 before and after use. If you've never boiled it, I would boil it for a while.

Soak it in alcohol. I have been using that same SS diffuser for more than five years without problems. I rinse it well after use and occasionally soak it in pure alcohol. Never had any clogging problems whatsoever.
