So I bought this mesh screen for filtering the wort out of my mash tun...seems like an awesome piece of equipment...a lot of people seem to use them...but I can't figure out for the damn life of me how I attach this to me standard homemade mash tun...the attachment for the screen is a 1/2 inch male screw-in...and the attachment for what the old brass nipple screwed onto is what looks like a 3/8 inch...I'm scouring lowes looking for something to join the pieces...but an employee just told me I would need a tool to bore out the 1/2 inch end on the mesh screen...there's no way it's that difficult...anybody have one of these things that they use for their standard cooler converted mash tun? I'm losing my mind trying to figure out what I'm missing...any help is greatly appreciated.

I got everything at home Depot and connected mine just fine.. I'll try to find my parts list. Do you have a ball valve on your tun?

Something like this will connect your valve to the screen:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003GSKXUU/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

I put washers behind that and value and added some o-rings against the cooler.

Think something like:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003JQJO6S/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

or
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003JQJMUQ/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

Bridges the gap between the valve and the coupling. Can't find my parts list but anyone at Lowes or HD should know what your trying to do.

So I think the mistake that I was making was by trying to find a way to connect the mesh attachment to the bushing (?, I do not have good hardware vocab)...It looks like maybe I should just find a larger valve to use instead?
