Beersmith is telling me about 1 oz. Is this correct? Why would it take 4-5 oz. if I was bottling?

I've never done it, but I know it takes less. I've usually heard about 1/2 the amount. What CO2 Vol are you shooting for?

I would like to tag a follow-up question onto this. How much corn sugar to properly prime an ordinary bitter that will be drawn from a hand pump? I've read less than 1/2 cup to start, but I'm going to be running close to the deadline on this and need to get it right the first time.

Sorry to piggyback, bja.
