How many times can I use a glass carboy?

I usually use to ferment a glass carboy, I chill the wort in this carboy and I would like to know how many times is it safe to use this carboy without breaking it because of the heat shock.
 
Yeah, you can be as careful as you want with the handling, but if your putting hot wort into a regular glass carboy you're just taking your chances. At some point it will break and you'll lose your day's brewing. Been there, done that and it sucks.

Check out the no-chill threads for some better fermentors to suit your brewing.
 
Been there, done that, too. Strongly recommend using a wort chiller of some sort - makes for better beer along with safer brewing.
 
like the others have said....heat and glass is a bad combo....

Also keep in mind food grade buckets are only rated up to 120 degree anything more they are no longer considered food grade safe

Point is chill your wort before transferring to fermentation vessel

No point in risking
