How long do you wait before tapping the keg?

  • Brute force method. High PSI, shake, and enjoy right away.

  • Sit 1-3 days. I need that sweet nectar NOW!

  • Sit 3-7 days. ehhh should be good now.

  • Sit 1-2 weeks. I can wait.

  • Sit 2+ weeks. I have a bad memory...

So I just kegged another batch (hefe) and for those that do the set it and forget it method of carbing how long do last before you give in for a taste. I normally make it about 3 days before I cave in. I'm just curious about you guys.

I usually wait about a week before I test. I try to find new beer at the store to past the time. You know for product testing.

The key is to have it carbed and ready to go before your last one is kicked. This way you just hook it up and you're ready to go.

My issue is that I have a small Kegerator that can hold 2 corny kegs, or one carboy, and I use my kegerator as my fermentation chamber also. So I'm kinda limited to make one batch, keg it, kick it, new batch and so on.
