Inspired by yoopers pliny-ish recipe, I want to do a big dipa soon and i have a bunch of random open hops I would like to burn and get out of my freezer. The grain bill will be simple just some 2 row and some light crystal 10 or 20 and sugar

What i need to use first

3.5 oz simcoe 12.9 aa (have lots more if needed)
1.6 oz columbus 15 aa ( have 4 oz more if needed)
3 oz warrior 16 aa
1.4 oz centennial 9.2 aa
3.7 oz cascade 6.2 aa
2 oz chinook 11.4 aa

also in my arsenal
citra and amarillo

You've got more than enough, and can make an awesome DIPA with those. All about determining which variety and amounts based on personal preference.

I'm thinkin

3oz warrior @ 90 min
2oz chinook @ 45
1.5 oz columbus @ 30
3.5 oz simcoe hopstand
3.5 oz cascade hopstand
1.4 oz centennial dry hop 10 days
1.5 oz simcoe dry hops 10 days
and another random set of hops for 5 days maybe

IBUS 229
ABV around 9

Jesus! That's a massive hop profile. Do it up and let us know how it turns out.

my take: move the chinook to 60 mins, and slide the columbus down to 5 mins. with such a hugh amounts of late hops, 30 & 45 min additions are kinda wasteful: you're not getting all the bittering you could and you're not going to perceive much in the way of flavor/aroma (it'll be buried under the late additions). i'm a big fan of massive hop stands for IPAs but i still like a 5 min addition. 10 days is long for a dry-hop, 5 should be plenty.

you are now free to return to not caring about my opinion :ban:

Another option: use the Warrior to bitter. 2oz should give you around 100 IBUs, but use all 3 if you like. Throw all the rest together (including the extra 4oz Columbus), and split into three parts. Use one portion at 10 minutes, one as a hopstand once you cool to 180 or so, and the last part as a dry hop.
