Hello, last year I went overboard and purchased more leaf hops I could use. I have vacume packed hops that are over 1 year old. Some have started turning brown in some areas. Use them or throw away?

So they are from the 2012 harvest? They should be ok if they were kept tightly sealed and in a freezer. They shouldn't have a cheesy smell and they should smell fresh and hoppy when you rub some between your palms.

I've used hops 3+ years old. Vacuum sealed and in freezer. As long as they smell fine you're good to go. Just be aware the AA%-age will drop......but u can always compensate by adding more hops
