Hi, all,
Just moved to BIAB brewing from extracts and now that I've got my system dialed in, I'd like to start formulating my own recipes. A local brewery in the Philadelphia area that I'm particularly fond of is very into "dank" hops in their brews and I'm a huge fan. I'm particularly interested in working with some of those hops to get a handle for their flavors and bitterness, so I was planning on a simple APA using Apollo and Galaxy hops this week.
Would anyone mind taking a crack at this recipe for me, specifically the hop schedule?
Mash
95% 2-row
2.5% Crystal 40
2.5% Carapils
Mash at 154 for 60 minutes
10 minute mashout at 168
Hop schedule
.5 oz Apollo @ 60 min
.25 oz Galaxy @ 15 min
.25 oz Galaxy @ 10 min
.25 oz Apollo @ 5 min
.5 oz Apollo @ 0 min
1.25 oz Apollo dryhop
Assuming 70 percent efficiency (I'm still getting my crush right), this puts me at 44.5 IBUs in Beersmith.
