I have been involved in the barbecue competition world for a few years now, and put together and hosted a comp here last year. I set the event up as a non profit, brought in bands and had 5 teams compete. We had a local organization serve beer, and 25% of all beer and BBQ sales went to a local charity.
We had a hugely successful event, and people are on me to host a second one.
I am in the planning stages of round two, and would love to add a homebrew competition to the event. Any advice and information would be great. The BBQ event was sanctioned a KCBS style event, with an official judge brought into teach a judging class to the local volunteer judges.
Is there something like this in competition beer, or is it more peoples choice?
