This is my favorite brewing video. 3 parts. You've probably seen it. All I got to say about this guy is I love his attitude! He doesn't talk about OG, FG, his fingers are his thermometer. His strike water temp seems extreme but he hits his mash temp anyway.

It's his method and works for him. He leaves out many details but still hits on some of the most significant aspects of brewing and has been doing this successfully for around 600 gallons of brew!

Episode 3, at about 5:00. I can't believe that circumferential grip contraption that he hauls those glass carboys with.

Well that is one way to do it. Just lift with your legs so you don't throw out your back.

I know Pappy, freaked me out too, all that strain on glass? Crazy. I do have a feeling older glass carboys were stronger, he was pretty confident in his method and the guy is not exactly young - experience?

This really is one of my homebrewing fav's cause, even though he didn't explain EVERYTHING, he had a pretty good handle on the important stuff. Not sure he mentioned sanitizing.. maybe for him just a given. He didn't make a yeast starter but did oxygenate. He didn't measure his cooled wort temp as it was coming out of the CFC with a thermometer, just his calibrated fingers.. woot! Got to note, love the non concentric large coils of his CFC, nothing fancy, just functional. As far as the sparge head? When in the 20th century did he pick that thing up? Looks to me like no plastic in it.
